The story

It was definitely time to update my about section!

There have been several changes about me since I last wrote “about” me.

I am no longer working toward a teaching certificate.  My heart wasn’t in it, and with the changes to public schooling, I know that I would be miserable working under all of that.  So, I’m quite content just being who I am for awhile.  I’m a proud shift supervisor at Starbucks Coffee Company.  Sure, I have issues with Howard, but overall, he doesn’t really have anything to do with my day to day life.at.sbux.  So I just make coffee.  And do it well.  And treat everyone who walks through my door with respect and dignity.

So that covers the job in my life.  My hobbies?  Lately, it’s crafting – mostly crocheting, a little knitting, a couple of handmade cards and there are some sewing projects on the horizon.  I do love to read.  Other than the making things, I love to read.  And listen to music.  And hang out with the husband and the cats.

I’ve been married to Chris for 2.5 years now.  We’ve been together for almost a whole decade, though.  Together, I think we make the perfect blend of two people – I think that we compliment each other perfectly.  A little bit country, a little bit rock and roll…a little bit organized (him), a little bit scattered (me).  It’s what makes us work so well together and keeps it interesting.

Oh, the cats.  Nettles and the newly adopted Cosmo.  Nettles has been my cat for about 6 years now, and is a huge part of my life.  Cosmo was adopted a few months ago, and has definitely found a warm place in my heart.  They’re my kids.

So, there’s my job, my husband, my cats, and my pastimes.  Other than that, I suppose knowing that my favorite bands are NIN, Tool, Muse, Arcade Fire, The Decemberists, U2, The Killers, The Beatles, and Pink Floyd might give you a little insight into my head.  My favorite books are “To Kill a Mocking Bird” and “Lamb: The gospel according to Christs’ childhood friend, Biff”.  My favorite song is “Thank You” by Led Zepplin.

I want to live simply, love deeply, and laugh often.
