I know this may not be the most interesting topic for everyone, but if it helps one person, then I’m ok with that.

About 6 months ago, I was completely fed up with the state of my skin.  I had tried all kinds of acne kits, washes, pimple killers, lotions, makeups etc, and nothing seemed to help the state of my skin.  My skin is oily, but it’s moving toward combination.  And no matter what I tried, I had breakouts.  They kept getting worse and worse, and they were quit embarrassing.

So, one day, while looking around at several “beauty” blogs, I found a link to Paula Begoun’s website, Beautypedia.com, and a testimonial about how the information on her website has helped clear up her skin for the first time in years.  For those who don’t know, Paula Begoun wrote Don’t Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me.  Her website is an extension of this book, with extensive reviews and ratings that are constantly added to and updated.

I looked around on her website, and found several cleansers and other options that she has tested and reviewed to produce results.  So, I bought a couple of things, and slowly I started seeing some changes in the state of my skin.  The website requires a subscription, and I totally understand why.  All those reviews would take forever!

Bless that woman.  And finally my skin has cleared up (except for the occasional breakout that is just part of life), and I’ve learned that several of the products I was using actually cause breakouts even though it says “anti acne” on the packaging.  That should be criminal!
