I was driving home, and stopped for a funeral procession.  And burst into tears.

What’s up with that?

You were reminded of your own mortality. Most of us do not like to think about our impending death.

It’s too bad because keeping in mind that our time is finite, impels us to make better use of our time, and by default our life.

Michael – While that is a great point, and we do all need reminders of our mortality, I don’t think that’s what was going through my head.

I was thinking about the heartache that my grandmother is feeling after the loss of her husband. I was then reminded of the heartache that people all over must feel when they lose someone they love dearly. I’m more affected by emotions of others than emotions of my own, I think.
