Sad and sorry state (country). September 16, 2008

Thanks, Lily, for writing what I was feeling.

I’m in a state of shock over what our country is dealing with right now.  I can’t believe that Karl Rove has been able to run the backwards and insulting politics of the GOP for the last 30 years.  I can’t believe that once he resigned from the Bush Administration (ugh), he was immediately hired by Fox News as a political analyst, furthering the Fox news unfair and incredibly unbalanced GOP slant on the news.

I’m sad that people believe exactly what they hear on the TV.  They believe fucking advertisements!  Publicity stunts!  The same way we believe that a miracle diet pill will change our lives without changing our food intake or amount of exercise, we believe whatever special interest group pays to put on the television during our reruns of CSI.

With the economy crashing, people taking what they hear on TV as gospel, and the bullshit going around about if you question the validity of Sarah Palin as a VP you’re sexist. (WTF?!!?!?!?!?!)

We should absolutely question her credentials in the same way we should question Obama’s, McCains, and Bidens, regardless of penis or vagina factors.  If she was a formidable opponent, Fox news wouldn’t be harping on the little things, and they would be focusing on her actual qualifications other than that she’s close to Russia.  Ugh.

If given the option today, I would move to Canada in a heartbeat.  I’m over all of this right now.
