Otium Cum Dignitate
It means "leisure with dignity". It's a concept taken from the ancient Romans - that even though you're having leisure time, that doesn't mean that you aren't still learning or thinking. Imagine sitting in a villa overlooking the mediterranean on your vacation from the hustle and bustle of a crowded city. Not only are you enjoying the view, sleeping late, and drinking some really great wine, but you're also reading philosophy and The Aeniad.I am Michelle
a 20-something wife to the best husband ever. Barista by trade, dreamer by hobby, with a lot of crafting on the side. Crocheting calms me. Compulsive reader, music listener and beginning to find the "place" and "purpose" I've been trying to find for years.Currently Reading
"Dead until Dark" - Charlaine Harris"Plum Spooky" - Janet Evanovich
"You Suck" - Christopher Moore
To be read
"Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell" - Susanna Clarke"The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism" - Max Weber
"The Upanishads"
What takes up my time, now.
- There are four questions of value in life... What is sacred? Of what is the spirit made? What is worth living for, and what is worth dying for? The answer to each is the same. Only love.
